Cold, hot, solid or liquid, glass can be caressed, sculpted but also dreamed! I like to work with transparency and light, to invest the poetic dimension of the material. It is a slow work of patience, where, day after day, I learn to tame this sometimes reluctant companion, which has its own life and with which I maintain a continuous dialogue. Mathilde Caylou


Born in 1985 en France.

After studying at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg, she graduated from Arts Déco with honors in 2010. She continued her training by following an Erasmus semester at the IKKG (Institut für Künstlerische Keramik und Glas) in Hôhr-Grenzhausen (Germany) and in various master glassmakers' workshops in France and Denmark.

In 2011, she set up her workshop in Landersheim, Alsace. In 2013, she was a laureate of the Banque Populaire Corporate Foundation, then a finalist in 2016 for the "Talents d'eau" prize of the François Schneider Foundation and also a finalist in 2017 for the FIMA Baccarat international competition.

In 2018, she is the winner of the "Premio in sesto" prize, a perennial work in the public space of the city of San Vito Al Tagliamento in Italy.
