Biography



Born in 1929
Studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Paris, architecture
Arts and Crafts School in Paris, where he discovers ceramics.
1955
Installation of his studio in La Borne, France
1966   Win the Grand Prix of the first biennal of Vallauris
1973   Back to Paris
1975   Professor at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Bourges, France
1977   New studio in Cahors, France
1981   Studio in Agen, France
   Professor at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Limoges, France
1993   Studio in Murviel les Béziers, France
2004   Death of Yves Mohy

With Jean and Jacqueline Lerat, Elisabeth Joulia and Robert Deblander, he was one of the reformers of the contemporary ceramic.
Yves Mohy always worked the stoneware, at first to make it utilitarian pieces, adding glazes, mastering in the firing to obtain surfaces with a big subtlety. Then he mixed with the stoneware with other materials, wood, cast iron, slate, etc., creating strongly structured pieces.
