Making visible and understanding what drives our presence in the world.
Drawing, erasing, confronting the gesture, what springs forth or slips away. Allowing the invisible part of reality to emerge.
The work is done on very thin paper. Saturated with ink, walnut stain, chalk, pastel, writing, it retains, like palimpsests, the traces of time and becomes imbued with humanity.
In the crucible of the studio, the papers are folded, suspended, mounted. Taking mysterious, underground paths, the series develop, complement each other, and engage in dialogue.
The feverishness of the paper, the subtlety and depth of the muted tones, the accumulation of rhythms and traces of writing bring the works to life and strike a chord in both our individual and collective memories.
