Taki:
For me, waterfalls are a place of mystery where I feel an indescribable and inhuman presence that both frightens and intrigues me. There is a painting entitled “Painting of the Nachi Waterfall” which, for 14 centuries, was thought to embody divinity. The first time I saw this painting, I saw nothing more than an elegant brushstroke on a sheet of paper against a dark background. It was only afterwards that I discovered all the detail and depth it contained and reconnected with my initial, contradictory impression of waterfalls. 'Taki' is a contemporary translation of this painting."
